SHAKE THE CIV!

The London Collective Investment Vehicle (CIV) manages pension schemes worth a staggering £34.4 billion on behalf of the capital’s 32 borough councils. As of March 2025, over £7 billion of this money is invested in companies enabling Israel’s on-going genocide and apartheid in Palestine.

These complicit companies include:

• Elbit Systems - Israel’s largest arms company
• Palantir - Tech giant whose AI tools facilitate Israel’s surveillance of Palestinians
• Maersk - One of the main shippers of weapons and military equipment to Israel.

The CIV admitted to its investment ties in 2024. Yet it has taken no meaningful action to end its financial complicity. That’s why we must force it to act!

Shake the CIV is a London-wide divestment campaign to force the CIV to stop bankrolling genocide and apartheid in Palestine.

We are a coalition of over 30 groups across London - including local activists, council workers and trade unionists - united in the belief that the CIV must withdraw its investments from companies profiting from Israeli war crimes.

As the CIV’s sole shareholders, London councils have the power to make it divest. Victories in Waltham Forest and Tower Hamlets, where councils have committed to divestment, prove that together we have the power to make councils act.

The Plan to Win

We win by applying pressure on two fronts: directly on the CIV, and through its shareholders - our local councils.

One way we do this is by building local pressure to get councils to publicly oppose the CIV's investments in companies that profit from or enable genocide - and to use their shareholder power to formally demand that the CIV divest.

Our power lies in collective action. Together, we can ensure that the CIV no longer profits from Israeli war crimes.
